Ian Tippey

Ian Tippey

Ian studied Physics and Sports Science at the University of Loughborough.

He went on to study Astronomy For Teachers at Liverpool John Moors.

Star Wars when I was aged five was responsible for my initial interest in space that led to further discovery of Sci-Fi and Sci-fact.  I also have a passion for many sports and went to Loughborough University so study Physics and Sports Science.

At work...
Ian is Head of Physics at Framwellgate School in Durham, where he teaches both Physics and Astronomy.

Ian has worked with Science Learning Centres on various opportunities including a cross curriculum links project between Maths and Science, and a Science in the News project.

Ian enjoys kayaking and is a member of the Bishop Auckland kayaking club! Some of Ian's interests - Kayaking, Still play football , Campervan to travel UK, Astronomy

answer big questions, sorting big problems and learning about what all this stuff is around us and out there.



What's the best thing about working at the National Space Academy?
Visiting different schools and working with different students who are interested in space.
