Natalie Tunnicliffe

Natalie Tunnicliffe

"There are lots of routes into a career in the space and science sectors."

Nat studied chemistry, physics and maths at A-Level, as well as AS art and further maths. She chose to pursue physics at university and after obtaining her BSc at the University of Southampton, worked at a school in Switzerland where she decided she wanted to study for a PGCE at the University of Warwick. She has worked in schools as a classroom teacher and as second in command of the science department. Nat now works at the Space Academy as a lead physics practitioner.

At the office

Nat spends time researching the latest advances in the space sector and develops resources to teach science through the context of space. She teaches physics masterclasses in different schools and space camps around the country as well as at the national space centre in the science lab. She also teaches on the Space Engineering Course run in partnership with Loughborough College.

Away from the office

Nat likes to draw, play netball, swim and travel.

We asked Nat...

Given the chance, would you go to space?
100%!
