Lorna Palmer

Lorna

"There are lots of career options and routes, as we discuss with young people at our career conferences each year."

Lorna studied English, Art and Biology at A Level, has a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage and is a trained Phlebotomist! She is now the Programme Delivery Manager for the National Space Academy.

At the office

Lorna joined the National Space Academy in 2016 as an Administrator where she organised our busy diary and managed bookings; from masterclasses and careers events to team meetings and VIP visits.

Lorna became our International Project Manager in 2020, and she is now our Programme Delivery Manager. Lorna focuses on the delivery of our programmes, from commercial work to the Space to Learn project, as well as our careers conferences.

Away from the office

Lorna enjoys spending time with her daughter; whose favourite book happens to be The Darkest Dark by astronaut Chris Hadfield.

We asked Lorna...

Given the chance, would you go to space?
I think I'd probably be too scared! But I like that there may be an opportunity for those who want to in the future.

What's the best thing about science?
It is so exciting! There is always something new to learn.

What's the best thing about working at the National Space Academy?
Every day is different!
