Ewan McMillan

Ewan Mcmillan

"The space and science industry has always inspired me to learn more and develop myself to better understand the universe.

Find a job that you love and are passionate about and you won't work a day in your life.

My goal in this role is to inspire students and the general public to explore STEM and to tackle fundamental questions the universe has that need answering for us to really understand our place in the cosmos."

Ewan's History

His first role at the National Space Centre began on the corporate team back in 2019, assisting with events and the team. Eventually he was accepted onto the Space Crew team where he was tasked with ensuring that the building was fully functioning for the visitors and to help the visitors and school kids out with any queries they may have about space, science and/or the National Space Centre in general.

Ewan studied IT Development at Stephenson College for 3 years and then went on to study Web Design and Development at the University of Abertay, Dundee.

We asked Ewan...

Given the chance, would you go to space?

Yes! I've wanted to go to space now for decades, the answer to what we are is out in space not just on Earth.

What’s the best thing about science?

That it is based on fact, through observations, experiments and civil debate with the science community.

What’s the best thing about working at the National Space Academy?

Being around professors, scientists, the occasional astronaut, and amazing artefacts.
