Space Education Quality Mark for Ysgol Glan Clwyd

  • 16th Oct 2015

The National Space Academy is pleased to announce that the Welsh school Ysgol Glan Clwyd has been awarded a 'Silver' Space Education Quality Mark.

The Space Education Quality Mark is awarded to schools that have shown significant use of the context of space in STEM subjects, worked with other organisations, shared resources and used space to enrich the curriculum.

The Academy looks forward to Steffan collecting the award in July, at the National STEM Centre in York.

The Space Education Quality Mark is funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and run by the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO).

When asked about the award, Lead Educator and Head of Physics Steffan Tudor said:

"We're very excited about winning this award and feel it is recognition of the hard work our pupils have done over the years in our Space Camps, public observing evenings, national competitions and many other activities on the theme of Space. This Silver Award is great for the school and hopefully we will push for the Gold in the near future!"
