What it means to be a space engineer

Dr Ed Chester , the Project Manager from the University of Leicester's Space IDEAS Hub, gave us a fascinating talk on 'what it means to be a space engineer' taking the audience through some of the space missions and projects past, active and pending which the UK is involved with.

The Space IDEAS Hub is a knowledge-transfer project based at the Space Research Centre at the University of Leicester. It feeds expertise developed from space missions into commercial benefit for UK industry.

"It's fun communicating about what 'space technology' really means, and about the solutions and capabilities developed here in Leicester. The physics and engineering principles used really are very transferrable to other industries".
