Kersti FourcinCommunications and Marketing Manager

There are lots of routes into a career in the space sector; Kersti studied English Language, English Literature, Drama and Biology at A-level. She went on to study Linguistics at university. Fast forward to now, and she is Communications and Marketing Manager of the National Space Academy!

"I took an outside module in creative writing during my Linguistics degree. Whilst my Linguistics degree gave me a real eye for detail and a logical approach to my work, I found that the creative module allowed me to mix this up and push some boundaries. I think it's helpful to apply different perspectives to situations in everyday life and at work."

At the office
Kersti is responsible for the National Space Academy's marketing and communications. A big part of that is looking at what we say and how we say it. It's also about spreading the word about the great work the National Space Academy do, looking for new opportunities and encouraging more and more people to get involved with science education using the context of space!

Away from the office
Kersti is interested in fitness, writing and meeting new people...sometimes all at the same time.

We asked Kersti...

Given the chance, would you go to space?
I think part of me would be scared; but given the opportunity could I really turn it down?

What's the best thing about science?
Problem solving. Science answers real life riddles.

What's the best thing about working at the National Space Academy?
I learn something new every day.
