Applied Science
Applied science courses seek to make connections between classroom science and life outside the classroom. Learning applied science encourages students to think scientifically by investigating the problems and solutions that science deals with. The subject includes physics, chemistry and biology topics.
The National Space Academy applied science masterclasses are based on hands on, immersive activities which get students thinking and questioning. Key ideas from each of the main sciences are explored through experiments, allowing plenty of scope for students to road test their ideas, building their confidence as scientists. The context used is not only space exploration, but earth observation and the protection of the environment, a subject that many students strongly identify with.
