Having graduating in Physics from Swansea University in 1993 Robert pursued a Masters degree in Environmental Analysis. In 2002, after several years in industry, he completed his PGCE and entered the teaching profession.
Throughout his 12 years teaching Robert has been an examiner with the WJEC and AQA and is currently a team leader with Edexcel. An avid supporter of STEM enrichment, Robert has been successful in securing funding to run many STEM events, including Astronomy and Robotics clubs, workshops for primary teachers and Energy and Electricity Road Shows. He also leads Pembrokeshire's 'Starlab Project', touring schools with a mobile planetarium and solar telescope.
Robert currently teaches Physics and Astronomy, and in 2014 he was award the IoP's 'Physics Teacher of the Year in Wales' award.
In addition to teaching Robert is a founder member, and secretary, of the Preseli Astronomy Group. He regularly gives public lectures, organises 'Star Gazing' events and presents to Brownie and Cub groups.
